Researchers at the Novosibirsk Volozhizov Institute of Organic Chemistry of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences have made a bioactive supplement from Prunus funestus (Rhaponticum), sea buckthorn and cranberry by synthetic method. It increases muscle tone and work capacity, accelerates lowering of blood sugar, initiates fat burning process and enhances libido.
Rhaponticum contains plant steroids that improve muscle tone and work capacity," says Tatyana Henrikhovna Tolstikova, PhD in biological sciences, head of the laboratory of pharmacological research at the Novosibirsk Institute of Organic Chemistry, Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Ursolic acid in Rhaponticum belongs to the group of triterpenoids and has protective properties."
Data from preclinical studies show that after taking this substance, the body's physical functions increase, the effective use of glucose is accelerated, the fat-burning process is initiated, and the libido is increased. Scientists have screened for the best combination of ingredients and have studied the effectiveness of the composition over several years. Tolstikova stressed: "There is only one bio-supplement of ursolic acid extracted from green apple peel in the world - this was developed jointly by American and Chinese scientists. Our product has no analog in Russia."
The ingredients of the extract are designed for sports enthusiasts rather than professional athletes. The product is now in the registration phase and is planned to be launched in the near future - it will most likely be available in sports nutrition stores.
